As the new school year begins, we are so excited for all the incredible adventures that lie ahead. Each year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and explore. This year, we remain committed to working alongside our school community, continuing to build a school culture that supports a welcoming, supportive, and safe learning environment for your children to learn. We embrace possibilities as we begin this adventure together and look forward to what a new year might hold.

We will continue to publish weekly communication for families. We will share important upcoming dates for the week ahead and beyond, a brief reflection from our leadership team and key news items you need to know about.

We are looking forward to seeing our students on August 29. For the returning families, welcome back, and to the new families, we are looking forward to meeting you. Let’s make this school year a memorable one filled with joy, discovery, and lots of fun!

Not Returning to Sibylla Kiddle

We know that changes and moves happen over the summer. If you have received this email and are no longer attending Sibylla Kiddle School, please email the office as soon as possible. 

School Hours

School Hours are listed below.

• Monday - Thursday - 8:00 AM – 2:40 PM
• Early Dismissal Fridays - 8:00 AM – 11:45 PM
• Lunch (Kindergarten) - 11:00 AM – 11:43 AM
• Lunch (Grades 1 - 5) - 11:45 AM – 12:28 PM

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is August 29, 2024.

Please note, Kindergarten will be operating on August 29 and 30, 2024 with staggered entry and no bus transportation will be provided. If you are unaware of your child's assigned time for these days, please contact the school. Regular Kindergarten classes, times and transportation will begin on September 3, 2024.

Homeroom Teachers and Class Assignments

Families will receive notification of their child’s homeroom teacher on August 26 via a School Messenger email. This information will be accompanied by the first day of school plans as well as which doors your child will be using to enter and exit the building. All staff will be outside on the first days for supervision and will be there to help direct you and your child.  Please plan to say goodbye to your child outside the school as parents will not be permitted to accompany children into the school. 

Communication (Phone, Email, Website)

The main point of contact with the school is our school email, Sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca. Please use the school email for reporting student absences and lates. You can also contact the school via phone. Our school phone number is 403-817-3432. Our school website provides families with school related information. School Supplies

All students need to bring to school are indoor shoes, a water bottle, a lunch and a backpack. Please make sure all items are labeled with your child’s name.

Basic school supplies for all Sibylla Kiddle students will be supplied (pencils, notebooks, scissors, glue, etc.). Student supplies are purchased by the school and provided as part of your school fees. All students will have access to shared supplies in each classroom which are grade appropriate.

Sibylla Kiddle 2024-2025 Calendar

The 2024-2025 Sibylla Kiddle Calendar has now been published on our school website. It contains an overview of all the key dates for the upcoming school year. It also has our school bell times (no changes), lunch times and a breakdown of what Fridays our various Kindergarten groups will be attending school. Information on specific events such as Healthy Hunger, assemblies and field trips will be communicated to families as they are scheduled throughout the year.
