            Parent-Led Conferences
Our first set of school conferences will be held on September 21 and 22, 2023. These conversations are intended to be parent-led with an opportunity to set some early learning goals and for us to understand how we can best support your child. These conferences will be in-person, at the school.
We strongly encourage parents to include their children as part of the conference. This allows students to have a voice in their learning goals and to take personal responsibility for their learning.
Online registration for meeting times can be found through your MyCBE Account. This system opens at 8:00 AM on Thursday, September 14. Once signed in, click on “MyCBE” then click on “My School Conferences”.
Attendance Notifications
Beginning on Monday, September 18, if your child(ren) are absent and we have not received notification of their absence, parents will receive an automated phone call and email letting them know about the absence.
As a reminder, parents are asked to call (403-817-3432) or email (sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca) the school when their child(ren) will be absent.
Social Council/Parent Society Notes
Last week, the Social Council and Fundraising Society had their first meeting. There are many great activities planned for the year. To receive emails with information related to fundraising opportunities, council events such as dances and fun lunches, families must subscribe to commercial messages. To receive commercial electronic messages on these topics, please subscribe here: https://calgary.schoolmessenger.com/cbe_subscribe
On September 21 from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm, there will be a family event held outside the school on the compound that will coincide with Parent-Led Conferences. Join us for some dessert food trucks, fun yard games, a photo booth, a scavenger hunt and more! If you can volunteer for this event, please email volunteer.sibyllakiddle@gmail.com.
Dates of Significance
At Sibylla Kiddle School, we value and respect the diverse backgrounds and cultures of our families. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from one another and explore the things that make us unique.
The calendar below identifies some of the significant days of recognition and celebration to the CBE community.
                Dates of Significance Calendar

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day Event
CBE staff and their families and friends are invited to attend a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event hosted by the City of Calgary in partnership with the CBE and the Calgary Catholic School District. The third annual event is on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Fort Calgary (750 9 Ave SE). This year's gathering will include in-person speakers and performers, a live stream broadcast, an aerial salute ceremony, and other events.
Following the YYC, CBE & CCSD event, all are invited to join the Pokaiks – The Children Commemorative Annual Walk and Gathering 2023. The walk will begin at 11 a.m. at City Hall (15-minute walk from Fort Calgary or 2-minute drive) and continue to Shaw Millenium Park (30-minute walk). The walk will be followed by drumming/dancing, Indigenous community speakers, artisan booths, and food sales.
