Dear Sibylla Kiddle Families,
We are excited to welcome Sound Kreations to our school for a dance residency starting next week! This residency is fully funded by our amazing School Council and Parent Fundraising Society.
When you purchase items through fundraisers like Healthy Hunger, Growing Smiles, or Purdy’s, that money goes back to the school. The funds raised through our school casino also support our students and school community.
Our School Council and Parent Fundraising Society do an amazing job raising funds to enrich our students’ learning experiences. Thank you for your continued support!

New Student Teachers
We will be welcoming a new group of pre-service teachers for their practicum placements, primarily in Grade 5 and kindergarten.
This year, we have partnerships with MRU, Ambrose, and St. Mary’s. Students from all three universities will be spending time in our classrooms, learning from our masterful teachers.
We also have practicum educational assistant (EA) students working in our Grade 2 and Grade 4 classrooms.
If your children are talking about all the new adults in their classrooms, this is who they mean!
Halloween Costumes
Students are welcome to wear Halloween costumes on Friday, October 30, if they wish. Our Leadership Club students will also be hosting a short assembly that day.
A few important reminders for families:
- Students may not bring masks or fake weapons to school.
- Costumes should allow students to sit comfortably and participate in classroom work.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes!
Scouts and Girl Guides – Uniforms on November 10
We will be hosting our Remembrance Day assembly on November 10. We encourage all Girl Guides and Scouts to wear their uniforms to school that day.
If your child is a Girl Guide or Scout and would like to help lay the wreath during the assembly, please email mllundgren@cbe.ab.ca.
More information about the assembly will be shared next week.
Photo Studio Retake Option
Our school photo retake day is Monday, November 9.
If your child will be away that day, Everest (formerly Lifetouch), our school photography company, is offering two additional retake appointments at its studio: November 13 and November 21.
If you would prefer to book a studio appointment, you can schedule a session here:

Reminder: Babysitting Provided at Council Meetings
Beginning with our November 4 meeting, free babysitting will be provided by certified students during School Council and Parent Fundraising Society meetings.
If your child already holds a babysitting certificate and is interested in providing babysitting services at these meetings, please email mllundgren@cbe.ab.ca.
We will also have a new group of babysitters available for the December meeting, as 34 of our Grade 5 students have signed up to take the babysitting course offered at our school!
Please note: Babysitting services are available for children ages 3 and up.
