Principal’s Message
“Learning is a constant process of discovery – a process without end.”
~Bruce Lee
In our fast-paced world, it's easy to become fixated on the destination, the end result, or the final grade. However, it is crucial to remember that the true essence of education lies in the process of learning. Our students are not merely accumulating knowledge; they are engaging in a transformative journey that shapes their intellect, character, and future.
As we navigate the intricacies of education, let's celebrate the small victories and the lessons learned along the way. Every stumble is an opportunity to rise, and each challenge is a chance to develop resilience and problem-solving skills. Our commitment to nurturing lifelong learners goes beyond grades; it extends to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a genuine love for knowledge.
In a few weeks, we will welcome families to our student-led conferences. During your visits, I encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about their learning experiences. Ask them about the questions that sparked their curiosity, the challenges they encountered, and the moments that brought them joy. By emphasizing the process, we can instill a growth mindset that empowers our students to embrace challenges and view setbacks as stepping stones to success.
Remember, education is a collaborative effort, and your involvement is integral to the success of our students. Let's work together to create an environment that values the journey of learning, where mistakes are seen as opportunities, and curiosity is celebrated.
Learn and Share | School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees.
The survey is open from March 7 to March 21. Please click here to complete the survey.
Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives.
Student-Led Conferences
On March 21, we invite families to attend our next set of conferences. Student-Led Conferences are an opportunity for you to see your child's learning through their eyes. During this conference, your child will lead you through a series of tasks to highlight their learning and share their work. Please plan to immerse yourself in your child's learning alongside them for approximately half an hour.
There will be multiple families taking part in the conferences during each time slot. Please book 1 half-hour slot per child. Classroom teachers will also be available to celebrate the learning with you and your child. If you have multiple children, you may consider overlapping times as you may not need the full time with your child, we ask that you please honor each time slot as we want to maximize the number of families.
Conference Booking will open on Thursday, March 14 at 8:00am. Please register through your MyCBE account. Please remember to choose the appropriate grade level when selecting a conference. For technical Support click here.

March 21 - Wear your favourite colour (in spirit of Holi festival)
Will you be staying at Sibylla Kiddle for the 2024-2025 school year?
If the answer is no, please email the school at sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca with your child’s name, and what school they will be attending for 2024-2025 school year. If moving out of the area, please specify where you will be moving.
If your child is a current student at Sibylla Kiddle School you do NOT need to re-register for next year. They automatically are registered for the next school year at our school.
Grade 5 students will go to Dr. George Stanley School or Dr. Martha Cohen for Grade 6, depending on which community you live in. You do not need to register for these schools, as they will automatically be rolled over to their designated school.
