Principal’s Message|
“Small changes can make a big difference.”
Over the past few weeks, we have noticed small changes to the trees outside of our school. As spring progresses, small buds turn into tiny, vibrant green leaves, which grow into larger, dark green leaves. Pink and white flowers appear alongside pollen, which floats on the air like little parachutes. In the blink of an eye, a once bare winter tree is now a full and blossoming spring tree, ready to capture the summer sun.
The small changes of a tree in spring are not unlike the ones we see in our students over the course of the school year. Each day students take part in learning tasks that make small shifts in their knowledge, their understanding, their skills and their friendships. Although day to day it can be difficult to see these minute changes occur, at the end of a school year, when we look back on the progress that has been made, a full and blossoming tree is before us.
As we enter June, our last month of school, we will have many opportunities to look back at all the small ways that we have been changed this year. Students will also reflect on their own growth along the way. As a family, look for ways to reflect on how the small changes in the year have made a big difference to your child as a learner?
Leaving Sibylla Kiddle School?|
If your child will be leaving Sibylla Kiddle School, please email the school at sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca to let us know what school your child will be attending for 2024/2025 school year.
Class Lists|
The process of developing class lists occurs right up until the first day of school next year. For this reason, families will find out who their child’s teacher is just before the start of school. An email will be sent at the end of August for more information regarding first day of school procedures.
2024-2025 Bus Registration|
Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year. Please Apply Now.
Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how to create one.)
Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.
Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after registration closes.
Learning Commons Note|
Ms. Gallant asks that all books are returned to the learning commons by June 14. This allows for books to processed and shelved prior to the summer break. Thank you for your support in keeping our learning space running smoothly.
School Council/Parent Society Notes|
The last School Council/Parent Society Meeting for this year will be Thursday, June 6 at 6:30pm in our Learning Commons.
