Weekly Update | June 1 - 5, 2026 Sibylla Kiddle School
Principal Update
Trees across Calgary this week have been filled with blossoms. If you step outside at just the right time, in just the right place, you may notice their fragrance in the air. From a distance, these trees catch the eye, often filled with white or pink flowers too plentiful to count. Look more closely, however, and the wonder of that eye-catching spectacle is made up of one blossom at a time.
Oscar Wilde captured this idea poetically when he wrote, "The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention." This year at Sibylla Kiddle School, our community has been shaped by many small but incredible acts of kindness from you, our parents. In particular, I want to gratefully acknowledge our parent volunteers. Your time and efforts may seem like just one intricate flower on a very large tree, but collectively those hours have made an incredible difference in our school.
As I walk the halls, I see parents and grandparents reading with students. I witness students enthralled by parents sharing their personal expertise in classrooms. I see the small army of field trip volunteers ready to tackle real-world adventures. Others contribute in the evenings by planning events, laying out yearbook pages, attending School Council meetings, or preparing materials for tomorrow's art lesson.
Your actions, your time, and your care come together to make something truly special. Sibylla Kiddle School is rooted in both community and learning. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered this school year to help our community flourish and support learning for our students. We appreciate you!
Brad Emery, Principal

Bus Registration 2026-2027
Registration for the 2026-27 school year began on May 13. Registrations must be received by June 14, 2026 to ensure students are added to routes for the first day of classes next year. Late registrations will continue to be received but will result in a delay in access to the bus route.
Please review the 2026-2027 Transportation Service Levels and Proposed Fees and register using MyCBE. Transportation is an annual service that can be paid monthly. Families are not able to register for only certain months ahead of time. Once registered, service continues until a cancellation is submitted, even if the student doesn't ride the bus every day. For more information, please visit the CBE's website on Busing and Transportation.
June Lunch - Outdoors
On days with just-right weather, some of our classrooms may be eating outside on a little picnic. Students will remain supervised by their lunchroom supervisor and continue to eat as a class. We know that being outdoors is a unique treat but can also be quite regulating for many students.
Aloha Dance Volunteers
The School Council is still in significant need of volunteers to support the upcoming Aloha Dance. If you are able to help out, please visit their sign-up page.
