Kindergarten Registration 2024-25

Registering your child for school is an exciting milestone for many families! Starting Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, kindergarten registration will be open for the 2024-25 school year. For children to be eligible to register and attend kindergarten next school year, they must turn five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2024.

For more information, please visit the CBE Registration Page or the school website. When registering your child for school, there are several things you should consider. Our Kindergarten Registration Guide can help answer many of your questions.

Cold Weather Reminders

Along with the New Year, has come some cooler days. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather with warm coats, hats, mitts and boots. It is important to have all items labelled with your child’s name. Dressing in layers and packing warm winter gear is a good practice for us all. As a general rule, students will be outdoors for recess if the weather is above –20 degrees with the windchill.

We also know that snow, cold temperatures and wind chill make getting to and from school challenging. Families are reminded to prepare and take extra caution during the winter months and periods of extreme weather. It is important that families plan for longer travel times to and from school each day. This supports safe travel for both vehicles and pedestrians. Families are reminded to respect all traffic safety rules and expectations for parking at the school during the winter months.

January Report Cards

Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 12 on Jan. 30, 2024. Report cards for the 2023-24 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed.

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.

As a note, Kindergarten teachers will report progress to parents/legal guardians via January and June report cards. In January, progress in ELAL and Math will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card. In June, progress in all discipline areas will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card.
