Principal’s Message

“Sharing things with others, making a new friend,  will begin a journey we hope will never end.”

(Kindness Grows)

Over the past few weeks, our classrooms have been building their communities. As our students share experiences, ideas, and laughter, they’re not just building friendships but also creating lasting memories.

This week, we also had a fantastic opportunity to come together to build connections and strengthen our school community as we welcomed families to our Open House and Welcome Back Picnic.

The picnic provided a relaxed atmosphere for families to meet, share stories, and enjoy delicious food while the kids played and made new friends. The open house allowed everyone to explore our classrooms, see the amazing work our students have been doing, and connect with teachers.

Events like these are vital in fostering a sense of belonging and support among us all. By coming together, we enrich our children’s experiences and create a vibrant community that we can all be proud of.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this event. We look forward to more opportunities to connect in the future!

Traffic Safety

We would like to remind families of the importance of traffic safety around the school. Recently, we have observed several unsafe behaviours occurring before and after school. Following traffic rules and being observant of pedestrians keeps our community safe.

Various traffic violations can put our students and families at greater risk of being injured. Safe driving habits help keep our students safe while also being respectful of the residents who have nearby homes. Please adhere to parking signs, including the bus zone, when driving to school. U-turns and jaywalking are unsafe practices, and we ask you to refrain from these. We can all work together to take care of our community and keep it safe.

A huge thank-you to all our families who are taking the extra time to model and practice safe driving and pedestrian habits for our students.

Lunch Supervision Registration

Lunch Supervision – All students who stay for lunch at school need to register for noon supervision. Please log into your MyCBE account online and register for noon supervision. The fee for this service will be added to your account in October. You can pay monthly if you would like. No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay fees. Fee waiver applications can be filled out through your MyCBE/PowerSchool Account.

Terry Fox Run

On October 3, Sibylla Kiddle will hold our annual Terry Fox Run. Students will take part in the run outside on the school field in the afternoon. We look forward to this opportunity to come together as a school community.

School Council/Parent Society Notes

Our next School Council/Parent Society meeting is Thursday, October 3 at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held in the Learning Commons at the school. You can find the agenda for the meeting under the School Council page. We look forward to seeing you all there!

The next fun Lunch is Thursday, October 3.
