Principal Update
Sibylla Kiddle School Families,
As a school, we officially opened our sharing circle this week. Let me start by expressing my profound gratitude to those parents who were directly involved in the planning and implementation of making this space a reality. I also want to express my appreciation to all of you who have financially supported our Fundraising Society, through various ventures, in helping to fund this space.
As part of our opening celebration, I talked to the students about the concept of sharing, as the space is a sharing circle. The circle is the physical representation of how sharing is done in a spirit of reciprocity and equality. We talked about how we share the space with the land and within the space we share our ideas and feelings with each other. It is a place where respect for self, others and the land is a shared responsibility.
In our homes, sharing is often thought of as the sharing of material objects. How might you broaden the concept of sharing in your conversations with your child? What does it look like to share ideas, both in the speaking and the listening? What does it look like to share feelings? Attention? Responsibilities? Expertise? As I wrote about last week, our circle starts to become a little bigger when we develop the skill of sharing, not only of our possessions but more importantly, of ourselves.

Terry Fox Run – October 1
On Wednesday, October 1, Sibylla Kiddle School will be hosting our annual Terry Fox Run. Students will participate in the run in the afternoon on the school field.
We are seeking approximately 12 volunteers to assist with this event from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteer responsibilities will include decorating the goal posts with balloons and streamers, as well as helping guide students as they navigate the course on the soccer field.
If you have a current police clearance and are interested in volunteering, please contact Andrea McLean at aemclean@cbe.ab.ca.
Online Demographic Forms
Thank you to all of our families who have logged into their MyCBE Account to update your child’s demographic forms for the 2025-2026 school year. Reviewing and completing your demographic forms ensures your child is properly registered for this school year and gives us the most up to date information possible, should we need to contact you. The official deadline for the completion of these forms has now passed. If you have not yet done this verification, we would appreciate taking the time to complete them as soon as possible.
Student Health Plans
Student Health Plan – A reminder that this form must be completed if medication is to be taken at school or if your child has a condition which may impact their attendance at school. This form must be updated on an annual basis. Please note, the school is able to oversee a student taking their medication but we are unable to directly administer the medication ourselves.
Student Health Emergency Response Protocol Form – This form is only required if your child has a known and significant condition which may require the school to provide immediate emergency intervention. This form must also be updated on an annual basis.
Please note, for most of our students, these forms are not required. These forms are only applicable to students who meet the criteria noted above. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our school office.
