Principal’s Message
“The whole universe is based on rhythms. Everything happens in circles, in spirals.”
-John Hartford
This week you may have noticed the beginning of our outdoor sharing circle. As we begin the creation of this outdoor learning space for our school community, we invite you to reflect on the quiet power of the circle—a shape that has long connected humanity to the rhythms of nature, community, and learning.
Circles are everywhere in our lives. They shape the sun and moon, guide the seasons, form the rings in a tree, and echo in the ripples of water. They are present in the way we gather around tables, tell stories around fires, and share space in conversation. Even time itself is marked in cycles—days, months, years—reminding us that growth is not linear, but circular, ever-returning and evolving.
In this spirit, our new outdoor learning circle will be more than just a physical space. It will be a symbol of connection and continuity—a place where students come together to think, listen, share, and grow. Surrounded by natural materials and native plants, the space will reflect the organic, inclusive shape of a circle: one with no beginning or end, where every voice has equal value, and every perspective has a place.
This project is rooted in the belief that learning, like life, moves in circles—through reflection, dialogue, curiosity, and return. By embracing this shape, we’re honoring the ways children naturally engage with the world and with each other. We hope this space becomes a living reminder of the harmony, balance, and unity that circles represent.
We’re excited to bring this vision to life and look forward to a space that will support the emotional, social, and intellectual flourishing of our students.

Sibylla Kiddle Day
Sibylla Kiddle, our school’s namesake, was a teacher that understood the power of involving parents in the school community. She often had her students perform for their parents. The students loved to learn special parts for plays such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” performing for all their family members.
Like Sibylla Kiddle, we have invited families in to watch each grade team’s Celebrations of Learning. On May 28, our Grade 1 students will have an opportunity to share their learning with families. Their celebration will center around kindness, a core value of Sibylla Kiddle.
Sibylla Kiddle’s birthday falls on May 25. This year, to commemorate her birthday, our school council and fundraising society is providing cupcakes for all our students to be delivered to classes on May 26. Recognizing that there are food allergies and/or food preferences for certain families, if you would not like your child to take part, or require an allergen free snack, please e-mail your child’s teacher.
We are also encouraging students to wear their school swag or school colours (green and blue) on May 26.
2025-2026 Bus Registration
Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2025-26 school year using their MyCBE account.
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
CBE Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. Confirmed routes are posted in late August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before those students are able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.
Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after registration closes.
School Council/Parent Society Notes
Our last school council/parent society meeting will take place on Thursday, June 5 (please note the adjusted date) at 6:30pm in the forest.
A big thank you to our school council and fundraising society for providing students with a small treat to celebrate Sibylla Kiddle’s birthday.
