Principal’s Message
“Because in February the days were really getting longer and you could see it, if you really looked. You could see how at the end of each day the world seemed cracked open, and the extra light made its way across the stark trees and promised. It promised that light, and what a thing that was.”
~Elizabeth Strout
With the warmer days and growing light, it is a lovely reminder that, just like the days are growing longer, our students are also embracing the changing season. The extra light and warmer air are encouraging more outdoor play and moments of joy in nature. It's been wonderful to see them outside, enjoying the fresh air, running around, and truly soaking in the promise of spring that the extra light brings.
Recently, many of our classes have been taking part in community walks or simply finding ways to get outside to learn. We have enjoyed being back outside for recesses and playing field games. As the weather continues to change, we often have very wet conditions on our school grounds. We do ask students to try and stay out of overly wet areas. This allows all students to stay warm and dry at school. It also supports the office in not making several phone calls home for dry clothes.
It is a great idea to pack a spare set of clothing in your child’s backpack. Although we work hard to keep them dry, there are times that an extra set of clothing comes in very handy!
Wishing you and your family many more moments of sunshine and outdoor fun in the coming weeks!
Lisa and Denise

Will you be staying at Sibylla Kiddle for the 2026-2025 school year? |
If the answer is no, please email the school at sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca with your child’s name, and what school they will be attending for 2025-2026 school year. Students moving out of Cranston and the Sibylla Kiddle catchment area, must register at their new community school. Please specify where you will be moving.
If your child is a current student at Sibylla Kiddle School, you do NOT need to re-register for next year. They automatically are registered for the next school year at our school.
Grade 5 students will go to Dr. George Stanley School or Dr. Martha Cohen for Grade 6, depending on which community you live in. You do not need to register for these schools, as they will automatically be rolled over to their designated school.
