Principal’s Message
“A single crocus blossom ought to be enough to convince our heart that springtime, no matter how predictable, is somehow a gift, gratuitous, gratis, a grace.”
~David Steindl-Rast
The crocus is one of the first signs of spring, a vibrant reminder that warmer days are just around the corner. Emerging from the still-cold earth, these hardy little flowers often push through snow or frost, bringing a burst of color to the otherwise dreary landscape. With their delicate petals in shades of purple, yellow, and white, crocuses signal the end of winter and the start of new life. Their early bloom is a hopeful symbol that nature is awakening, and spring is on its way, filling us with a sense of renewal and anticipation for the brighter, longer days ahead.
Spring is a time for students to reflect on how far they've come. Just as the crocus reminds us that even the smallest steps forward can lead to great progress, the challenges our students faced have helped them grow stronger and more resilient. With the end of the school year in sight, spring offers a chance for students to embrace their newfound knowledge, push their boundaries further, and blossom into their full potential—just as the crocus blooms into a beautiful symbol of the season.
We hope that you were able to witness some of this growth and progress as you took part in our virtual student-led conferences prior to the break. We are eager to continue to see the efforts of our students' hard work, growth, and perseverance branch into fresh opportunities for learning, creativity, and exploration over the last few months of school.
And as you enjoy all that the spring break has to offer, take an opportunity to look for a Prairie Crocus blooming on the prairie, bringing with it, the promise of spring.

Parking & Staff Parking Lot
Recently, there has been an increased number of families using the parking lot to drop off and pick up their children. As a reminder, we kindly ask that parents do not do drop-off or pick-up in the staff parking lot. It can be unsafe as our staff is arriving or leaving the school and cars are actively moving.
Parking is available past the school parking lot on Cranford Drive SE and along Cranford Square SE. Please be mindful of our neighbours and do not block driveways in the area. There is also a loading zone to the east of the bus zone on Cranford Drive SE for brief stops.
When dropping off your child at school in the morning, they are welcome to come into the building anytime between 7:50 and 8:00 AM. This is designed to reduce congestion near our doors.
Learn and Share - School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees.
Today is the last day to complete the survey. Please click here to share your feedback.
Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives.
School Council/Parent Society Notes
Our next School Council and Parent Society Meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:30pm. The location of this meeting is to be determined.
Watch for a flyer coming home with your child the first week of April for the latest fundraising opportunity.
