Principal’s Message
“In a world where routines often dominate our lives, it’s easy to overlook the importance of extraordinary moments — those magical experiences that stay with us forever.”
-Dr. Greg Wells
In his blog, Dr. Greg Wells speaks to the importance of magical moments. Magic moments are significant because of their ability to evoke emotions, create connections, and allow for an enhanced sense of being.
School is a place where magic moments frequently occur, as it offers opportunities for personal growth, personal connections, and moments of achievement. These experiences—whether it's a breakthrough in understanding a challenging concept, a moment of recognition for hard work, or the bonds formed with peers and teachers—create a sense of accomplishment and belonging. School events, like a memorable learning celebration or a heartfelt classroom discussion, can evoke the same positive emotions that promote well-being. These magical moments not only contribute to academic success but also play a key role in shaping students' self-esteem, resilience, and sense of connection to the community.
We look forward to continuing to share magical moments with you in the coming weeks as we prepare for our virtual student-led conferences. If you would like to read more about the impact of magical moments, you can visit Dr. Wells Blog here.

Virtual Student-Led Conferences|
On March 20 and 21, we invite families to join us for our next set of conferences. Due to the CUPE Local 40 strike, our conferences will move online. These conferences continue to be an opportunity for you to see your child's learning through their eyes, as they share some of their work with you. Please watch for communication from your child’s teacher about what learning and tasks your child will share with you. We then ask parents to sign up for a 10-minute virtual student-led conference for your child to discuss their learning with you and their teacher.
Registration Booking will open on Thursday, March 13 at 8:00am. Please register through your MyCBE account. Please remember to choose the appropriate grade level when selecting a conference. For technical support click here.
Grade 3 Celebration of Learning
On Friday, March 14 at 10:45am, we invite parents of students in Grade 3 to join us for their celebration of learning. This will be an opportunity for parents to see their child’s learning through song, presentation and video. We look forward to seeing you there.
Learn and Share | School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees.
The survey is open from March 7 to March 21. Please click here to complete the survey.
Watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives.
Learning Commons Volunteers
Do you love books? Do you have experience working in a library? We are looking for a couple of volunteers who would like to help on a semi-regular basis in our learning commons through shelving books and other tasks. If you are interested in supporting the school in this way, please email Mrs. Gallant, our Library Assistant at djgallant@cbe.ab.ca.
