Principal’s Message
"Play is not a break from learning. It is endless, delightful, deep, engaging, practical learning"
~ Vince Gowmon
Last night, we had the joy of welcoming our newest Sibylla Kiddle students and their families at our Welcome to Kindergarten event. It was heartwarming to see the excitement—and a few nerves—of these young learners set to begin their journey with us this fall.
During their visit, our future kindergarteners got a glimpse into the magic of a kindergarten day—through play! While it may look like fun (and it is!), play is also powerful learning. When children play, they explore, solve problems, express creativity, and learn how to work with others. They practice important life skills like communication, empathy, and teamwork—all while engaging their imaginations and curiosity.
Play isn’t just for school—it’s for life! It reminds us all to pause, connect, and learn together in joyful ways. As we head into the weekend, we encourage your family to make time to play together. Whether it’s building, imagining, or exploring outdoors—you might be surprised by what you learn alongside your child.

Leaving Sibylla Kiddle School?
If your child will be leaving Sibylla Kiddle School, please email the school at sibyllakiddle@cbe.ab.ca to let us know what school your child will be attending for 2025-2026 school year.
Class Lists
The process of developing class lists occurs right up until the first day of school next year. For this reason, families will find out who their child’s teacher is just before the start of school. An email will be sent at the end of August regarding first day of school procedures.
Yearbook On Sale Now
Yearbooks are on sale. Please ensure you purchase by June 20 to receive your 2024-2025 yearbook.
2025-2026 Bus Registration
Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2025-26 school year using their MyCBE account.
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
CBE Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. Confirmed routes are posted in late August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before those students are able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.
Community Playground Reminder
We would like to remind the community that the public is asked not to use our community school playgrounds during school hours. This allows our students access to the playground during recesses and natural breaks. As a reminder, Our Lady of the Rosary school does not have early dismissal on Friday afternoons, so we ask that our students avoid their playground during that time.
Learning Commons Note
Ms. Gallant asks that all books are returned to the learning commons by Friday, June 13. This allows for books to processed and shelved prior to the summer break. Thank you for your support in keeping our learning space running smoothly.
School Council/Parent Society Notes
Our last School Council/Parent Society meeting will take place on Thursday, June 5 (please note the adjusted date) at 6:30pm in the forest.
