Principal’s Message

“Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.”

~Albert Schweitzer

This year, our school is embracing the power of continued and consistent kindness to strengthen our community. From the start, we’ve been inspired by Kindness Grows by Britta Teckentrup, a story that reminds us that kindness isn’t just something we do once, but something that grows and deepens with time. This idea is at the heart of everything we do, both in the classroom and beyond.

Each of the branches of kindness remind us that it is something we practice every day—in how we care for ourselves, how we treat others, how we respect the spaces we inhabit, and how we protect the land that sustains us. These principles are woven into our curriculum, helping students develop the skills to regulate their emotions and build strong, positive relationships.

As we have returned from winter break, we have witnessed many acts of kindness. Whether it be taking care of our school by tidying up a hallway mess, helping a friend who is hurt or supporting classmates in group projects, kindness continues to be a constant throughout the school.

We encourage families to reflect on how kindness can become a consistent part of everyday life. How can you nurture kindness toward yourself, others, places, and the land? By making kindness a constant practice, we can create a community where it continues to grow, touching every aspect of our lives.

Kindergarten Registration 2025-2026

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-2026 is ongoing.

For more information, please visit the CBE Registration Page or the school website. When registering your child for school, there are several things you should consider. Our Kindergarten Registration Guide can help answer many of your questions.

January Report Cards

Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 12 on Jan. 27, 2025. Report cards for the 2024-25 school year may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed from MyCBE

Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.

As a note, Kindergarten teachers will report progress to parents/legal guardians via January and June report cards. In January, progress in ELAL (English Language Arts and Literature) and Math will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card. In June, progress in all discipline areas will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card.

School Council/Parent Society Notes

The next School Council/Parent Society Meeting will be on Wednesday, January 22 beginning at 6:30pm in our Learning Commons. This meeting is the AGM of both the School Council and the Parents Society.
